The Institute of Directors Logo

The Institute of Directors is a world-renowned organisation supporting Company Directors, Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs. Founded in 1903, and gaining a Royal Charter just three years later in 1906, it promotes high levels of skill, professionalism and competence amongst its membership and the wider business community.

Having supported the South Region of the IoD for a number of years producing newsletters and event support material, this project was part of an annual programme of events and came about very shortly after the launch of a Brand refresh.

Director of the Year Awards Programme

This event programme was a 24-page A4 publication detailing the nominees for awards across a number of business categories.

Having designed the publication and awaiting final content we were made aware of the release of new Brand Guidelines and had to act fast to gain a thorough understanding of what they meant to the project.

Following receipt of final content, which was close to the event date as is common with such award programmes, we submitted the revised design at effectively the final proof stage, to take account of the new Brand.

The job was then digitally printed for speed, again interpreting the guideline specifications on stock weight and style.

We were subsequently pleased to receive this feedback from the Head of Acquisition and Product Marketing:

This is the first piece of printed material that has been produced at a regional level in the new branding, and you’ve definitely set the bar high!

…you’ve interpreted the new marketing toolkit perfectly, it’s a really nice piece of design and beautifully printed too.  I’m really happy with how the colours and imagery have reproduced, and the layout is working really well too.

It’s exactly how we intended the toolkit to be interpreted.  I’ll be using it as a great example of regional literature supporting our overall brand.
